FAQ
Can I use porcelain tiles outside, I always thought they were just for bathrooms and kitchens?
Yes, due to the advancements within the ceramic industry as a whole, outdoor porcelain tiles are perfect for outdoor applications as they absorb virtually no water. They are densely packed and fired at extremely high temperatures making them robust and highly durable. They are also fade and stain proof.
Are outdoor porcelain tiles slippery?
Not at all. Outdoor porcelain tiles are basically slip proof and have the same impenetrable surface as other natural stones and concrete. All our porcelain tiles are manufactured to the highest and have been tested to European standards. Our water absorption is represented by EN ISO 10545-3 = 0.01 mass% which means they are impenetrable.
What about frost and snow, are porcelain tiles safe in this environment?
Yes is the quick answer here. Our collection is rated R11 for slip resistance which is similar to flamed granite.
What is the difference between rectified and non-rectified porcelain?
Simply put, non-rectified is lower quality and probably cheaper to buy and this is reflected in the array of prices that you'll see within the marketplace. Rectified demystified simply means 'put right' and when applied to porcelain it means the edges have been produced to a very specific size to meet precise requirements. This is an essential attribute for laying your tiles. When you use rectified tiles, the result will be smooth, with a perfect alignment, look and feel.
Are porcelain tiles low maintenance?
Porcelain tiles are basically maintenance free due to their low absorption rate. This non porous advantage means there is no need to worry about moss or algae.
